Durham for All launched in early 2016. Before then, our founding team engaged in different issue-based organizing across Durham over the years. In 2014 and 2015, members of our founding team began experimenting with building political power through local elections, and we led victories to elect young, progressive, people of color into local offices.
Durham for All is made up of three teams that lead our main pieces of work: a Campaign Team, an Organizing Team, and an Operations Team. We have a four-person, majority people-of-color Leadership Committee to bottom-line daily operations and manage our teams.
Our leadership is a multiracial, cross-class group of Durham organizers and activists with a range of progressive movement experience and skill-sets. Our organizing focuses on developing leaders in working-class people of color communities, predominantly with Black and Latina women and refugees.
Durham for All is an independent political organization, and a 501(c)(4) non-profit.
